Led by certified tour guides, this journey begins at Plaza Colon, where participants travel through time while exploring the iconic landmarks and hidden gems of this historic district. Included in this experience is admission to the majestic San Cristobal Castle*, offering panoramic views of Puerto Rico’s landscape and a glimpse into its military past. In total the tour covers over 23 sites of historic and cultural importance. This culinary experience at a local bar includes a traditional baked empanada paired with a refreshing beverage. Participants will have the opportunity to choose from 4 different kinds of empanadas and a choice of a local beer, soda or water.

Trip # 2. El Yunque Rainforest
Join us on this exclusive activity where you will discover the exotic flora and fauna of the El Yunque National Rainforest- one of the oldest forest reserves in the western hemisphere and the only tropical rainforest inside the US National Forest System.
A leisurely drive takes you to the trailhead while your guide shares stories and history about the towns along the way. You will see orchids, giant ferns, bamboo trees, wildflowers, tropical hardwoods and spectacular waterfalls. This is a true tropical paradise in which the Taino Indians have resided and considered sacred for years.
During this educational tour we will make several stops along the corridor, including:
- El Portal Visitor Center- learn more in depth about the 28,000 contiguous acres rainforest which is home to more than 240 species of plants and wildlife. Enjoy interactive displays and a paved short trail.
- Visit to La Coca Waterfall- an 85-foot waterfall that quickly comes to view with its magnificent drop down onto huge rock formations and a shallow water pool. Perfect for picture opportunities.
- Climb the Yokahu Observation Tower, a 69-foot-tall spiral tower, where views are unobstructed and far reaching. At this point you are 1,500 feet above sea level, and it is a great place to relax before our return to San Juan.
Please wear comfortable clothes and sneakers and be sure to have lunch prior to the tour as we will not stop to eat. Water bottles will be provided but feel free to bring your reusable water bottle.
