Accessibility

The Center for Watershed Protection is committed to ensuring that the information available on our website is accessible to everyone.  We are actively working towards the goal of delivering a web experience that achieves “Level AA” conformance according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1). These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities.

This website incorporates the following accessibility features:

1. An accessibility interface that allows users with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s user interface and design it to their personal needs. The interface includes:

    • A seizure-safe profile for individuals with epilepsy
    • A vision impaired profile that enhances the website’s visuals for blind people
    • An ADHD-friendly profile with more focus and fewer distractions
    • A cognitive disability profile that assists with reading and focusing
    • A keyboard navigation profile that allows users to navigate using only the keyboard
    • A profile that optimizes the website for screen readers

2. An AI-based application that continually optimizes the website’s accessibility level, for example, by adapting its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.

3. An application that uses statistical machine translation to convert webpage content from English into 103 different languages.

Parts of this website are not fully accessible. We are working with a third-party consultant to conduct a full accessibility and user experience audit, offer specific recommendations for improvement, and implement those recommendations over time with planned updates to the website.

Our efforts are a continual work in progress as our site grows and changes. We welcome feedback and are always open to suggestions for improvement. We will make reasonable efforts to address any accessibility issue you may experience. Please contact us if you encounter an accessibility issue; be sure to include the web page URL and the nature of the problem:
