Ellicott City, MD – Center for Watershed Protection, Inc. has been selected as a beneficiary of the Giant Food Community Bag Program for the month of August.
The Giant Food Community Bag Program, which launched in July 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work.
The Center for Watershed Protection, Inc. was selected as the August beneficiary of the program by store leadership at the Giant Food located at Ellicott City. The Center for Watershed Protection, Inc. will receive a $1 donation every time the$2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at this location during August, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag.

The Center for Watershed Protection, Inc. is a non-profit based in Ellicott City, Maryland. Founded in 1992, the Center for Watershed Protection has worked on stormwater design manuals for nine states and the District of Columbia, reviewed local development regulations for 75 communities to evaluate how well they work to encourage environmentally-friendly development, developed management plans for nearly 100 watersheds and helped over a dozen communities find and track down the sources of illegal sewage discharges to the stream.
