Dear CWP members, friends, followers, and family:

With our responsibility to minimize the spread of COVID-19, and after extensive deliberation and careful consideration, the Center for Watershed Protection has made the decision to change the format of the 2020 National Watershed and Stormwater Conference scheduled for April 14-17, 2020.

With the recent prohibition of gatherings of 250+ in Austin and the declaration of a national emergency by the President, we cannot legally hold the conference in Austin, Texas at this time.

Of course, no event can truly replace face-to-face interactions and this decision was not made lightly. We are disappointed we won’t be able to see you in person this year, and we are actively working to reformat the 2020 National Watershed and Stormwater Conference in a robust online format that will allow for wider participation during the same time that the original conference was scheduled. Please look for our announcement of a new date for the online version soon.

Next Steps:

Please cancel your travel reservations immediately, including hotel and airfare. We do plan on a future event at the hotel, but they are not able to transfer hotel reservations to a later date.
If you are a presenter and your abstract has been accepted, please know that we plan on delivering the technical content in a new format with agenda modifications.

Our team is available to respond to any questions and those can be directed to Karen Titus (email kmt@cwp.org); however, we will be sending additional information in the next few days, including FAQs on the postponement, reimbursement, etc. We know that many of you are making travel plans and thus wanted to get the notice of postponement out as soon as possible. Please check our website for updates.

The Online 2020 Watershed and Stormwater Conference will provide a forum for watershed and stormwater professionals throughout the nation to learn how to increase the resiliency of our communities in response to emerging and persistent threats to our water resources — from headwaters to coasts.
